Model GFC mass flow controllers are designed to set and indicate flowrates of inert gases. Flowrates are set by a proportionating electromagnetic valve, and are unaffected by temperature and pressure variations within stated limitations. LCD screens are supplied with direct reading displays, and zero and span adjustments are conveniently accessible from the outside of the controllers.
Capillary sensor tubes are made from type 316 stainless steel. The large ratio of length to inside diameter ensures laminar gas flow within the tubes. Two precision windings heating the outside of the thin walled tubing serve as temperature sensing devices. For flowmeter operating principal, see the previous page.
Mass flow controllers are designed to operate only with clean, non-corrosive gases. Contaminated gases must be filtered to prevent the introduction of impediments into the sensor. The flow path consists of anodized aluminum, 316 stainless steel, brass, and O-rings made from Viton®. Connections are 1/4" compression Parker / Swagelok type. The flow controller is powered by a power supply transformer, which must be purchased separately.
