Gas Purifiers - Quality Engineered and Tested

When a CRS ZPure™ gas purifier is installed in your gas line you’re assured of ultra-pure gas delivery, with low pressure drop and good protection against particulates. This is by design backed up with testing. For example, during manufacture every ZPure is filled with helium and individually leak-tested under vacuum. This is done by a helium leak detector - essentially a mass spec focused just on helium. No purifier leaves our facility without passing this stringent test. At the same time, different fitting styles have different attainable (low) leak rates. For high purity applications our ZPure purifiers offer a robustly sealed assembly with either compression fittings or Quick Connects. Both styles are sealed into the purifier body using metal gaskets, which form a nearly perfect leak-tight seal. The Quick Connects make purifier changes easy and convenient, but because of their flexibility there is a slight tradeoff in intrinsic leak-tightness.

Guarding Against Leaks and Dust

To guard against particulates, every purifier in the CRS ZPureTM line contains integrated metal frits at the inlet and outlet, to prevent dust from entering the gas line. On the outlet end, each ZPureTM purifier contains a stainless steel frit with a pore size of 1 μm. The highly tortuous paths through this frit allow it to trap particles that are much smaller than 1 μm. Many of our competitors who sell purifiers with a similar size range as the ZPureTM purifiers try to mitigate pressure drop by increasing the pore size of the outlet-side frit; however, this may allow more particulates in your gas line. Instead, at CRS we use a much bigger frit than our competitors, which yields a low pressure drop while maintaining high efficiency for particle removal. This way you get the best of both worlds: low particulates and low pressure drop.
