Chromatography Research Supplies  (CRS) now part of the Trajan family of brands

Trajan Scientific and Medical has completed its acquisition of Chromatography Research Supplies, Inc. (CRS). The acquisition of CRS is highly complementary to Trajan’s product portfolio in the analytical workflow and consolidates Trajan’s current market-leading position in gas chromatography sample introduction. For over 25 years CRS has been led by Glenn Thomas (owner) and Debbie Clark (VP). The acquisition sees Glenn move into retirement and Debbie continuing to manage the Louisville site, reporting to Kayte Parlevliet (General Manager Separation Science Business Unit, Trajan). Debbie Clark said: “CRS and Trajan are a natural fit through product offerings as well as a company vision that places value on our employees and strives to leave the world in a better place than when we found it. The team is excited for the future and to move forward now as Trajan Louisville”.

  2. New CRS Endura-Seals Injection Port Septa

New CRS Endura-Seals Injection Port Septa

Endura-Seals are the CRS alternative to typical silicone-rubber injection port septa for gas chromatography. They work in a 2 part sealing system that includes the septa and the sealing nut. The duckbill valve in the Endura-Seal is much more resilient to needle wear and tear than the traditional pierced septa. It allows the needle to glide through the valve without damaging the integrity of the septa. While CRS premium septa are already designed to avoid coring (particles in the liner), the Endura-Seals go a step further to virtually eliminate this burden. These features make the Endura-Seal septa the optimum choice for automated analysis that require long run times.

Metal Gasket Seal Fittings Are Here!

CRS demands a certain level of quality in our products and our ZPure Ultra Purifiers surpass even that by bringing a new set of features to the line. The ZPure Ultra Purifiers are designed for use when extremely pure gas and leak protection is critical to the application; such as in the microelelctronics and semiconductors industry. These high-quality filters are constructed of 316 stainless steel for maximum purity with an electropolished surface finish. They contain a 0.003 μm outlet particle filter, have long lifetimes, and can reach outlet purity to the ppb levels. The ZPure Ultra Purifiers come standard with 1/4” metal gasket seal fittings for superior leak ratings.

    Alternatives to Glass Vials?

Glass Coated Well Plates? Sure, these glass coated well plates have been on the market for some time, but CRS has now developed our own line. We believe our Pure-Pass brand matches the quality of current offerings at a competitive price point. CRS Pure-Pass Well Plates are offered in the basic uncoated ultra-clean polypropylene plates, as well as the premium glass coated plates that provide additional barrier protections for those specific applications such as in bioanalysis or pharmaceutical sampling. The polar surface of the glass coating has been shown to substantially reduces the risk of adsorption.

Don't Get Scammed! Beware of Knock-Off Products...

Found yourself searching online for our products and come across a price that seems too good to be true? The AFS Non-Hazardous Option - A Game Changer!

The AFS has long been one of our flag ship gas purifier products here at CRS. It has remarkable lifetimes that wipe out the competition, with the combined benefit of the site glass for moisture and oxygen indicators. The only potential downfall that we repeatedly run into with end users was its “hazardous” shipping status. The media used in the AFS that allows for these extremely long lifetimes is also its downfall for end users that aren’t set up for receiving these special items, or want to deal with the extra cost associated with a hazardous shipping program.

So Many Filter Options… Which Is Best?

At CRS, we have a wide range of options to purify your laboratory gases. We understand it can be overwhelming to narrow down which is the right one for your application. Never fear, we are always available for technical support and with the right information, we can help make the best recommendation for you. We typically have a set of questions to help us narrow down the options. The purity level of your source gas, and your flow and pressure ratings can drastically affect how long any given filter will last for your specific application.

  10. 3A Moisture Trap for SFC

    3A Moisture Trap for SFC

Chromatography Research Supplies (CRS) has developed a moisture filter specifically targeted to SFC end-users in petrochemical analysis using carbon dioxide as their mobile phase. In this specific application, the adsorption properties of the typical 5A or 13X molecular sieve media can cause rapid heating of the purifier cylinders from CO2 adsorption as well as the intended H2O molecules. With the CRS 3A molecular sieve filter, the smaller pore size allows for the removal of moisture while excluding almost all larger molecules, including the CO2 being used as the carrier.
